Blood Flow Restriction Training
Blood Flow Restricted (BFR) is the brief and intermittent occlusion of arterial and venous (veins) blood flow using a tourniquet while exercising. Using this technique you can exercise with significantly lighter weight while still creating a hypertrophy (growth) and strength response. It can also help reduce pain while training.
Praxis Physical Therapy is certified in Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) Training. The cuffs we use are H+ Cuffs and Smart Cuffs.

Targeted Manual Therapy
When needed, specific manual therapy and osteopathic techniques are applied to the musculoskeletal system to help reduce pain and improve mobility, thus allowing you to train better, play better and work with pain managed. Specializations in manual therapy include:
-
Neck, Back, Ribs and SIJ Manipulation/Adjustment
-
Shoulders, Knee, Hip and Knee Manipulation/Adjustment
-
Therapeutic Cupping
-
Muscle Energy Technique
-
Strain-Counterstrain

MUSCLE FORCE TESTING
When an athlete reaches a certain level of function and strength, we test the strength accurately using a force dynamometer. Force Testing using Meloq EasyForce Technology. We use a Digital Dynamometer that takes the guess work out of manual muscle testing.
The ability to easily and quantifiably communicate patient status is an important part of our outcome measurement at Praxis PT. The number is easily readable on-screen allowing the patient to see the measurement of muscle force production. It gives the athlete and the practitioner a measurable baseline so that the plan of care and treatment can be progressed accordingly.
